Post sailing this weekend, Bryan and I got dinner at Cafe Munir up near Golden Gardens for their Sunday Chefs Supper which is a prix fixe $25/pp and includes seven mezze dishes, a main course and dessert. The restaurant was full but we got a window seat. Our food was delicious though we need to come back because I didn’t get some of my favorites (cauliflower, beet with yogurt, greens, baba) that I saw go by to other tables. Our mezzes included:
- Thinly sliced roasted Beets with Vinegar and Olive Oil
- Toasted whole bean Hommous with garlic and cumin
- Watermelon, Parsley, Pomegranate and Fennel
- Eggplant Barley with fresh Chile and Tomato
- Black-eyed Peas cooked in a fresh Tomato sauce
- Lebanese classic Eggplants and Hummos Beans cooked in a Rich Tomato sauce
- Grilled Eggplants with Parsley and shaved Cheese
Our entree was this unique and insanely delicious roasted half chicken seasoned with herbs, sauteed onions and lemon that was baked inside a pita, hence the top of the pita got crispy and seasoned and the underneath pita got rich with all of the juices. This was served with an intense and delicious garlic sauce. And when we were already stuffed we were served a tasty and refreshing milk pudding with rose water simple syrup and pistachios and three pieces of baklava that was very good!
