Monday through Thursday were busy with packing, preparing, and fun.  We managed to get to a free screening of A Man from U.N.C.L.E along with picking up some mighty delicious Chipotle-inspired Indian takeout from a new place downtown.  I loved the filling bowl of chicken curries enjoyed in our movie seats and we loved the humorous, light-hearted, but adventure-seeking cast and plot of the movie.

I had to get my nails done on Tuesday, pick out what dress(es) to wear, spray tan for the D.R., and tidy up the house because then on Wednesday we had a cleaning crew come over to our house for the first time to help me clean the kitchen and baths mainly with some touch-ups of the living room and bedroom.  The house looks FANTASTIC right now (especially since the homeowners hired landscapers for the front and back yards this weekend) and we are ready for our visitors next week.  We packed ourselves up Wednesday night so that we could take off right after a sold-out FareStart Thursday night.  FareStart featured another cookbook author and a menu of:

First Course
Brandywine Bisque
With Spicy Shrimp Remoulade and Pumpkin Seed Oil

Entree
Raw Honey and Longpepper Smoked Pulled Pork
Red Eye Pan Jus, over Tieton Bianca Sweet White Corn-Poblano Grits, “Old Bay” Grilled Okra, Plum Pickles

Dessert
Nectarine Praline
Blackberries, Opal Basil Whipped Cream, and Blackberry Pixie Dust

Yummy! and now we are headed off to the Dominican Republic to celebrate and watch our mutual friends (first for us!) Luis and Carina say “I do!”.
