It’s that time of year…so many festivities going on around me. I can’t help myself but enjoy them all.
Monday: Pick up Chinese food to watch the super Seahawks beat the Saints on MNF!!
Tuesday: Leave work at 3pm to get to Deck the Hall Ball to watch 8 hrs of awesome music performed at Key Arena by: Vampire Weekend, The Head and the Heart, Phoenix, Alt J, Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Foals, Chvrches. So good!!!!!!! I love Vampire Weekend so much and this Deck the Hall Ball concert so much! Danced like crazy with Polly!!!
Wednesday: FareStart Holiday Party at FareStart with food, drinks, friends, live jazz band and fun! Then headed to a cooking class in Capitol Hill.

The class was held at Paris Eastside and this I got at a really good price on a coupon site and the class did not disappoint. The theme was a Holiday dinner with Parisian flair. I learned a lot AND it was really delicious with a few things unfamiliar to me in the kitchen. We made:
- Mushroom soup with a Parmigiano mousse
- Cod fish with shitakes and a lemony wine and butter sauce
- Chestnut spread Yule log
Thursday: Baby shower at work for the newest little girl (also 2 months premature and all of 3lbs). Then volunteer at FareStart for Guest Chef Night with Ray’s Boathouse. The menu:
First Course
Chioggia Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, Mixed Baby Greens, White Balsamic, Laura Chanel Goat Cheese, Oregon Hazelnuts

Entrée
Olympic Duo, Grilled Pacific NW King Salmon with Kalamata Olive Salsa Fresca & Petite Filet, Whipped Yukon Gold Potato, Roasted Spaghetti Squash, King Oyster Mushroom Demi Glace

Dessert
Molten Chocolate Cake, Cranberry Compote

Friday: Yelp! event at Babeland for shopping. It is what it sounds like. It was girls only and a ton of fun with champagne. Great kick off to my girlish weekend. Picked up a sandwich at Caffe Torino beforehand. Yum yum.

Saturday: Yelp! event at Macy’s with a celebrity chef cooking demo on cookies, free mixing spoon, signed dessert cookbook, sprinkles, and cookie cutter (for spending $35 in the Home department), a lot of cookies to taste, and $10 gift card to Macy’s…resulting in a new Martha Stewart fry pan with lid (needed!) for $15. Free yoga at Urban Yoga Spa. Book club night hosted by Polly and attended by 3 of her friends, friend Valerie, and myself. We drank a lot of wine, Polly made us a great dinner of beef roast with roasted vegetables, a cheese ball with crackers, and pumpkin bread, and I contributed with a seasonal salad with spinach, fennel, oranges, and a homemade dressing. Lots of good laughs and girl time.
Sunday: An independent day for me as the boys went backcountry skiing. I walked to church, then walked to the Seattle Center for two events: Urban Craft Uprising to buy some gifts and a latin jazz band in the armory. The band was great! The craft fair was caos! My 2pm free yoga again at Urban Yoga Spa (2x this weekend makes me very happy)! Home to watch the 2nd half of the Seahawks loss 😦 Leftover meat, dessert, and a book before the boy and Polly and I settled into starting the second season of American Horror Story.
Two Week Countdown!!!
