We really had a super week leading up to and through the Super Bowl. We had some super weather, ate some super food, spent time with some super friends, and worked which was just super!

Super Weather:
No rain Monday or Tuesday and a rainless weekend. Blue skies we forgot exist made for a wonderful treat on Tuesday and we even got our friends outside before the Super Bowl game to have our own pick-up game at the Arboretum field.
Super Food:
We had some killer tacos at Tacos Chukis after dance class on Monday and free Menchies for a refreshing treat before class thanks to National Frozen Yogurt Day. We met up with Billy and Valerie for dinner in Columbia City on Tuesday at the Caribbean joint Island Soul for some delicious spice.

Wednesday, I went to FareStart for the monthly community dinner they put on. This month featured some Turkish flavors for a welcome treat for me. FareStart this week we dined in and enjoyed four courses that were very flavorful; beef carpaccio with a potato croquette (amazing), truffled mushroom soup, braised pork cheek with pea puree, chanterelles and fig jam, and a cheesecake bomb filled with cake and surrounded with strawberries and rhubarb (also amazing). Sunday Bryan made his ribs again for the Super Bowl and we had quite the spread with our friend’s treats as well for the big game; nachos, seven layer dip, and homemade salsa.
Super Friends:
We got to enjoy dinner with both Billy and Valerie this week as well as sharing one of our bottles of wine from our wine club and dinner at FareStart with Bryan’s Lead from work, Mark, and his wife Kim. Then we had the whole crew over at the house on Sunday for the Super Bowl filling our living room, playing games (Super Bowl Bingo anyone?) to keep those focused on The Game, and cheering for the Panthers, unfortunately. Thank goodness for those games because this Super Bowl was a sleeper.
Super Work:
Well, work has been this past week until Wednesday when I was asked to go to Ellensburg, WA for work on a rails to trails tunnel project for all of this week. This meant I got a sneak peak of the site on Thursday, making the 2 hour drive there and back in the morning. I’ll be out there from Tuesday through Friday of this week with my trusty library book and Serial podcast to keep me company. But I am looking forward to the change of pace for a few days and I haven’t been out to a site like that for three years!
