Many things have been off this week:
- Me not feeling good
- Excitement around town
- Crazy weather
- Unusual work events
It’s good that this week had many “off” nights to recoop and recover and shelter ourselves from the weather. It was also a treat to get made dinner by two of my favorite people; Bryan made the perfect steaks for us on Monday and Polly made me a delicious Italian dinner on Tuesday while we watched the awesomely funny Spy movie.

FareStart was a full house which is always nice to see and we had a truly great meal of brussel and apple salad, bacon wrapped pork loin on a sweet potato puree, figs, cranberries, gnocchi and green beans, and a s’more mousse cake.
My structural group had a little shindig this week, starting on Thursday afternoon, as a sort of meet and greet and pow-wow for our future as the newly formed “Transportation” group…meaning transportation infrastructure like light rail and heavy rail. We had several presentations given by our own members, the president of our company, and our structural head honchos. We also toured all of the new light rail stations (they rented us a bus to drive us around) and had happy hour together on Friday at The Diller Room. We had people fly in from Cleveland and San Francisco and had others drive in from Portland and Vancouver. In total, there were 16 of us and for some of them it was my first time meeting people I talk to over the phone quite often. Additionally we had an impromptu staff meeting on Thursday and baby shower on Tuesday….

Friday night rolled into a friend’s holiday party down the street filled with holiday food, drink and cheer. Of course this played right into our annual company holiday part on Saturday night. Bryan and I got all jazzed up and headed to the Seattle Art Museum via Uber for cocktail hour, a full spread buffet dinner, getting to tour the Impressionism gallery, photo booth and a craft station for decorating some ornaments. We had some music and dancing before we finally called it a night right around midnight.

It was a great joyous holiday weekend following a busy end to my work week. I love jazzing things up once and awhile but looking forward to hopefully a calm week and a half before Christmas begins!
