…Literally an entire home. I don’t know how we landed this amazing deal but we are now going to renters in a 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath house with garage, gas stove and fireplace and large deck in the Madison Valley neighborhood in Seattle.
First let’s orienteer ourselves here:
- .5 mile to Harvest Vine (insanely good tapas restaurant)
- .9 mile to Lake Washington
- .4 mile to Safeway
- .7 mile to Trader Joes
- 1.3 mile to work for me
- .7 mile to the south edge of the Arboretum
- 2.3 mile to my office
- 3 mile to Seattle Center
- 3.2 mile to stadiums

As far as the house itself though…well it is just amazingly comfortable. The front facade is impressive and you can see our driveway with one car garage. The first floor is the right size for us and flows really well around the house. The living room isn’t too big but I think (I hope) that my TV will fit nicely above the gas fireplace. There are sliding glass doors from the living room out to the VERY spacious deck that I am so excited about. The kitchen is long but not too small for just little ol’ me to be in it. Lots of pantry space, dishwasher, and GAS stove! Then the dining room facing the front of the house in sunny windows and 1/2 bath complete the downstairs.

Up the stairs is where we get a little carried away. To the right is our master bedroom, with master bath with two sinks and built in closet space. There is lots of closet space which is very good and needed for both of us. Just next to the master are the closets with the washer and dryer…so nice to have them on the same level as the bedrooms and indoors. Then we have two more bedrooms and one other full bath. One bedroom is obviously going to be for guests and the other will be a multi-purpose room (aka gym) but we haven’t decided which is which. One is definitely smaller and the other is much larger with vaulted ceilings. I think we are leaning to the larger room being the gym just because we will likely be using it more than the guest room.

I think we really can’t get over the fact that we are each actually getting more space than losing space. The rent isn’t cheap for us two but we were looking at places 2x smaller for only about $200 less. It will be interesting how much utilities add up to, but I’m hoping to really manage these to cut back on them. Oh, we also have a large freezer in the garage so we think we better take up salmon fishing sometime soon!
Three more weeks living with the guys!
