Pow Wows

This week has been full of little meetings here and there.  Whether it was work, like usual, or post-work events, I’ve had brainstorming sessions, transition meetings, and celebrations.

First, there was the pow wow in the office on Monday at 3pm.  Several crowding around a desk to watch the US beat Ghana (finally!) in their 2-1 match.  Quite exciting even just 2 minutes in to the game.

Next, it was a volunteer appreciation dinner and organization brainstorming session at FareStart Monday night.  Twelve of us regular Guest Chef Night volunteers were invited to have a three course plated dinner in the FareStart dining room while we were asked input on the organization, feedback, and operations of Guest Chef Nights.  The dinner was a nice treat but it was just great getting to sit down and have dinner with my friends.  No corkage fee!

Then I had my Spring Social for SEAW.  This is the celebratory event for the organization before the group goes on a hiatus from dinner meetings for the summer.  There is always a really good dinner buffet at the Lake Union Cafe in Eastlake overlooking Lake Union with a speaker and the transition of the outgoing and incoming board members.

Marika and I pow wowed over sushi on Wednesday night, in the midst of me seeing a bunch more apartments and houses to move into.

Thursday night’s pow wow was for FareStart as we were really short staffed for a rather large number of customers that night.  The featured restaurant was Tallulah and from the start with that amazing soup, to the salmon, to the peaches and cream, this was a great dinner.  And Bryan and his dad dined at FareStart, complete with the tour of the facility.
