This week has been same old, same old from an activity perspective. The only difference is where my mind is at this week. I had my last cooking class, I attended FareStart, I was a guest at Bryan’s climbing graduation where I ran into a few people I knew at UM, watched Spain in the World Cup game at Fado’s Irish Pub for lunch with Marika on Friday, and I worked.
FareStart featured Hitchcock from Bainbridge Island. Great menu, really good octopus:

First Course
Giant Pacific Octopus, Gigandes Beans, Charred Garlic Scapes, Bone Marrow Soubise, Fermented Chili Powder
Entrée
Marinated Lamb Leg, Merguez Crepinette, Black Lentils, Blonde Frisée, Heirloom Radishes, Parsley and Mint Purée
Dessert
Douglas Fir Ice Cream Profiteroles, Wildflower Honey, Wildflowers
Marika and I had a blast watching the Spain soccer game during our lunch “hour” with a whole bunch of other rowdy soccer fans. We split a large salad, their delicious fish and chips, and an Irish coffee before heading back to work.

Friday night Polly invited me out to the ballet for the annual student’s choreography night which is cool and inventive and a good mix of classical ballet and modern dance.
Saturday and Sunday Bryan and I had to ourselves. We spent a good portion of the day Saturday looking at places to live before giving up and getting dumplings at Din Tai Fung and watching the French soccer game and then heading to How to Train Your Dragon 2 (per Bryan’s request). We sealed the teeny-bopper night with frozen yogurt from Yeti.

Sunday we walked to church before coming back to make breakfast tacos. We worked out, made Shepherd’s pie for our Game of Thrones Season Finale, and had a good night with our friends and good food.

Now a few days of fullness before Bryan’s dad visits!
