That time of year continues with more festivities. Still enjoying myself.
Monday: Yelp! Whiskey party held at Tom Douglas’ Palace Ballroom. Six top bartenders competed in a Whisky Throwdown. We sampled six craft cocktails and voted on our favorite while being fed apps from Palace Ballroom and enjoying the music!!
Tuesday: SEAW Happy Hour at Metropolitan Grill in downtown. Had a good crowd and good happy hour food including huge onion rings, fried artichokes (YES), bacon-wrapped steak bites, and sliders. Headed on to South Lake Union to do trivia with Bryan and Polly and friends.

Wednesday: Shopping and dinner by myself downtown. Had a great solo dining experience at Veggie Grill, trying two of their new winter menu items for free. I got the 2×2 with half a kale caesar salad with grilled chikn and their new grilled vegetables, plus a side of their new Yukon gold fries that were so yummy I ate the whole bowl. They were thick like my favorite steak fries, soft in the middle, crunchy on the outside, little grease, and yummy seasoned salt.

Cider Braised Honeycrisp Apples, Compressed Endive, Celery Branch, Spiced Walnuts, Vanilla Crème
Entrée
Painted Hills Short Rib Bourguignon, Grilled Trumpet Royal Mushrooms, Young Turnips, Oxbow Farm Carrots, Burgundy Glacé
Dessert
Cascade Huckleberry Sorbet, Molasses Genoise, Pistachio Crème
Friday: Play with Bryan for $5 at the Seattle Repertory Theater of the Hounds of Baskerville. We both thought it was soooooooo awesome. Neither of us had been to the theater of any kind in awhile and the actors were great, the storyline was fun and suspenseful, and the stage and props were really well done! Got a snack afterwards of Yeti yogurt!
Saturday: Mani/pedi with Marika to get ready for my Jacobs Holiday Party that was held at the Seattle Aquarium on the waterfront this year. I wore a bright red long dress and got so many compliments on it and Bryan looked very handsome too. It is always so fun seeing my colleagues dressed up. This year we had a great buffet, a full bar, and a dance floor. Five minutes before the Seattle Great Wheel closed eight of us ran and made it for a couple rides around the fun ferris wheel. It was the smoothest ferris wheel ever.

Sunday: Church, Seahawks game, and then Polly’s girl’s Christmas Concert with Bryan, Ewelina, and Stephan. A nice laid back day after a long night. We went for a drink and pretzel at Bravehorse Tavern before heading home to make Polly dinner. Bryan and I made that sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter sage sauce and three little lamb sirloins that we picked up at the store already seasoned (and so good) that I learned a few weeks ago. So delicious with a glass of red wine and movie of Usual Suspects with Bryan and Polly.

One week countdown!!
