Random Thoughts of the Week

  • Sometimes the texture of Greek yogurt makes me feel funny.
  • Having a picnic in a park with the boy really needs to happen more often.  The boy and I picked up soup and caprese ingredients at QFC on Saturday and went to sit in the Olympic Sculpture Park to watch the water and boats for a couple of hours.
  • This Paseo’s sandwich was delicious eaten after work on Wednesday in the company of Marika and Randy for an afternoon of talking and looking out over the Sound at Randy’s apartment near Golden Gardens.

  • Jacobs Associates was recently ranked number 172 on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) annual list of Top 500 Design Firms.  This is a 44% jump from last year’s ranking of 248.  Woohoo!!
  • Is it weird that I like the smell of McDonalds? It might just be nostalgia from when Mom and I would go before Early Morning Strings.  And yes, I got the Egg White Muffin again.
  • One of the cruelest forms of punishment I know of is banning coffee from one’s diet.  I am currently suffering trying to kick the infection I had.
  • Why do I like being without a cell phone so much????  And people really try to get me to upgrade to a smart phone.  I don’t see it happening.
  • My parents are the best.  I got the sweetest note and little goodies in a package last Friday.  I could care less what are in the packages I just love getting them…and letters from loved ones.  I like writing and sending them too!
  • I just signed a pledge and got my “un-drivers license”.  Sometime Sound Transit thinks it is so smart but I just got free coffee and pastries by not changing my lifestyle at all.
  • I’ve been very nostalgic lately, reminiscing on the cottage, soccer, playing with friends at Tamarisk Park after rollarblading to 7 Eleven for slurpies, grilling out with the family, reading on the roof…
  • I think I’m over my cereal phase for a time…move in ice cream!
  • Tried the limited edition German Chocolate Cake Dreyers ice cream yesterday, all I can say is I was beyond impressed.

  • I can’t believe I spent $400 on online shopping this weekend.  Amy needs to move back to I can start going to the store again, I actually think that would be better for credit card.
  • I’m starting to rock the sewing machine.  Making great progress on that t-shirt quilt.
  • Sometimes I can’t help but roll my eyes at the residents of Queen Anne…I mean only here would you see this:

Suds in the City? A mobile pet grooming operation.

  • While laying outside on Saturday I was very observant of the fact that I was not sweating from humidity, did not have a single ant crawl over me, and did not have to run from a bee the whole time.
  • Cantaloupe is in season!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • My neighbors dog (Pomeranian) reminds me of Licky…and the incessant yapping and chasing her down the street ANYTIME he lets her run free in the front yard.
  • I really want a grilled cheese sandwich…..
