Pack It All In

I wonder if you could pack anything more into my days lately.  As I am getting ready to leave for Arizona for a week I have been cramming in work and fun social events.  It’s been a lot but it has all been fun and worth it.  Take a look:

Saturday (a week ago):  Woke up early in Bellingham, WA and skied Mt. Baker all day in the sun.  Drove back to Seattle with a stop for dinner at Rosita’s Mexican in Greenlake for some carne asada tacos on their fresh homemade corn tortillas.

Sunday (a week ago):  Church, UM vs. IU (boo!!!), work from home (boo!!!), wait for pointless police report filing (boo!!!), home-cooked dinner of delicious fish tacos and fire with the B-dawg (ok, lazy day).

Monday (a week ago):  Work.  Appointment.  Dinner with Marika at Plum Bistro in Cap Hill.  Vegan restaurant but, oh, so, good!!!  I love getting together with this girl regularly too!

Yam fries with a trio of dips. Good but I've had better (crispier).

Wednesday (a week ago):  Work.  Yelp’s Adult Nerf Wars (in the month of March Yelp is holding a bunch of “Geek Out” activities.  This was a blast with 2 hours of playing Nerf Wars in Des Moines with roommate Polly and friend Nancy, plus free apps from Salty’s at Redondo Beach (cocktail shrimp, BBQ pork, cheese and crackers) and free beer and Mike’s Hard.

Thursday (a week ago):  Work.  Helped Bryan host weekly dinner at his place (gulp!).  We made his sister’s recipe for chicken penne alla vodka, salad, and pizookie for dessert.  Everything came out wonderful and he wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without me 🙂   I even bought him fresh daffodils for his table (which I made him bring over to my place later).

Friday:  Work.  Participate in a St. Patty’s day pot luck at the office.  Listen to the Big 10 Tournament, UM vs. Wisconsin (why UM, why??).  Volunteer at the Q Cafe for their concert, listen to awesome soulful music, drink two lattes past 9pm (uh oh).

Saturday:  Ran 3 miles for an IHOP visit to use a free entree coupon.  Yeah pancakes!!!  Got picked up by the boy.  Watched Kitchen Nightmares:  Seattle Edition of Yanni’s Greek restaurant in Phinney Ridge.  Almost decide to go to Yanni’s but finally decide to go to 9 Million in Unmarked Bills in Fremont to play Ms. PacMan and catch the tail end of happy hour.  Set their high score of over 81,000 and had some awesome calamari and sauteed kale and broccoli small plates.

Sunday:  Went to Urban Chic Garage Sale to browse selection of super cute clothes with Marika, bought a designer dress, two pairs of strappy cute shoes, a necklace and earrings for under $80, hosted dinner at my house for ten people.  Made Guinness beef stew and Irish soda bread in honor of St. Patty’s Day and watched a documentary on my new TV while indulging in Guinness Stout floats.  Documentary was called Knuckles about Irish feuding families that participate in bare-knuckle boxing with each other.  Both my stew and Irish soda bread came out fantastic!!!!
